A NOTE FOR NEWCOMERS

During the retreat we will meditate together in the morning and evening, practicing the yoga techniques as taught by Paramahansa Yogananda. We recommend that you familiarize yourself with these teachings in advance, for example through the guided meditations on the SRF website: https://yogananda.org/guided-meditations or through the books of Paramahansa Yogananda.

Please understand that we do not teach meditation techniques on our retreats. Each individual is free to learn about Paramahansa Yogananda’s meditation techniques through the Self-Realization Fellowship Lessons: https://yogananda.org/lessons.

Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions: jubilee-celebration[at]youthofgoldenage.de

COSTS

The price for accommodation and vegetarian/vegan food for 6 nights is:

Adults: 230 EUR
Children (5 to 16): 123 EUR
Children under 5 years are free.

If you camp or cannot stay for the whole retreat, the retreat fee will be reduced. The costs will be calculated on the registration page.

You can pay the fee by bank transfer or directly cash at the retreat.

It’s possible to reduce the price in case of financial difficulties. Please contact info[at]youthofgoldenage.de

If you were registered for the Jubilee Retreat, which was supposed to take place at the end of May and was cancelled, you will need to re-register for the Summer Convocation Retreat. Paid registration fees for the Jubilee Retreat can be credited or returned to you for this or any other retreat. Please contact Catharina in these cases: treasurer@youthofgoldenage.de

PLEASE NOTE

  • Since the Corona measures are constantly changing, we cannot yet give you any exact information about them. However, the house will not be fully occupied, we will adhere to the prescribed distance and hygiene rules and will endeavour to have the majority of the programme take place outdoors.
  • Furthermore, we ask all of you who do not live in Germany to inform yourselves about the entry and exit rules of your country as well as the Corona measures in Germany.
  • We would like to recommend you to attend the whole retreat if it’s possible. This can help to increase the feeling of spiritual community. However it’s possible to stay for only two, three four or five nights.
  • For those who feel like it, there is the possibility to camp, if you can bring your own tent. Canoes and inflatable boats are also very welcome!
  • We are always thankful for your help. If you wish to help in any way- please tell us while registering.
  • We would like to ask you to register as early as possible, but by 15th July at the latest.
  • If you need to cancel your booking close to arrival we have to charge you. The reason is that we have to pay for the accommodation and the food in advance, which means that we will have expenses even if you can’t make it in the end. If you cancel after the 20th of July 50% of the retreat fee is charged and after the 1st of August 80%. We ask for your consideration!

FAQ

Can I participate at the Summer Convocation Retreat even if I’m older than 40 or 50 years?

Yes! To the events of the Y.O.G.A. everyone is invited who feels attracted to the settings and is or feels young.

Can I stay in a single-/ family room?

In the retreat house there are only multi-bed rooms. Unfortunately we can’t offer you any single rooms, except if there will be very few participants. But you can bring a tent and camp on the meadow in front of the lake. As usual we will try to prepare family rooms.

Can I attend for only one night?

Please write an email to jubilee-celebration[at]youthofgoldenage.de and we will discuss the matter with you.

Do I need to nourish myself if I have a food intolerance?

No, we will take your needs into consideration while preparing the meals. Please enter your eating habits while registering for the retreat. If necessary you may have to explain things about the special nourishments to the cooking team during the retreat.

AND…

If you have another question, that hasn’t been answered yet, please send an email to jubilee-celebration[at]youthofgoldenage.de

Shortly before the retreat we will send you another email with important information (what to bring, etc.).

Small overview about the origin of the Y.O.G.A.

100 years ago Paramahansa Yogananda was invited to America to give a lecture on “Religion as Science” at the International Congress of Religious Freethinkers in Boston. In the same year he founded the Self Realization Fellowship and began to spread India’s ancient scientific teachings of Kriya Yoga to the West.

75 years later, a few young, enthusiastic devotees founded the international fellowship Y.O.G.A. The aim was to walk the spiritual path together with friends, to practice Yogananda’s teachings together in retreats lasting several days, and to express them in exchange with other Yogi*nis, while singing, hiking, meditating and other activities. The first retreat, which took place a good 25 years ago in Middle Franconia (Germany), was followed by countless others (according to estimates there must have been about 140). The spectrum ranges from the annual New Year’s Retreat and the Divine Gypsy Tours to near and far countries to tent, hiking, silence, kirtan, surfing, Easter and fasting retreats to children, women and men, convocation and midsummer night’s dream retreats. For many, the Y.O.G.A. has become a wonderful, spiritual circle of friends and we are overjoyed about all the experiences we have shared over the last 25 years.
